The Academy is a 6-week programme where you’ll put in full, 8-hour days, Monday to Friday. It’s short but packed with everything you need to kick-start your IT career.

We hold the Academy onsite in our Rijeka and Cape Town offices so participants can experience a real working environment.

We’re dedicated to giving back to the community and supporting young talent, which is why the Academy programme is completely free for participants.

What you will learn

You will learn about modern trends across software engineering, data, cloud applications and AI.

The Academy is designed for motivated individuals with basic technical knowledge who want to learn modern principles and best practices for building technology solutions using cloud platforms and cutting-edge tools. Topics include cloud solution design, application development, data storage and processing, AI tools and prompt engineering.

No previous work experience required

The Academy is designed for entry-level candidates, AI enthusiasts and tech-curious learners who want to build practical skills in a fast-moving field.

What we’re looking for is basic IT knowledge, including Python and SQL, an English level of B2 or higher and a motivated, ambitious mindset. You should be curious about technology, comfortable solving problems and open to working as part of a team.

How do I apply?

If applications are currently open, you’ll find all available Academy opportunities here.

In the meantime, prepare your CV and include details about your background, work experience and any additional courses or projects you’ve completed, whether through school or independently. If you’re a self-taught developer, feel free to share your GitHub portfolio, we’d love to see your work!

We also include some screening questions in the application form. Since a CV alone doesn’t always capture your interests, expectations and future goals, we’d appreciate your insights here!

How does the selection process work?

To ensure top quality, we limit the number of participants, so our selection process helps us find the best candidates.

The first step is a conversation with HR, where you can showcase your skills, motivation and why you’re a great fit for the Elixirr AI Academy. This discussion also includes an assessment of your English speaking abilities.

The next stage involves an interview with our tech experts and HR to gauge your tech skills, programming knowledge and your demonstrated interest in the field of computer science. While we don’t expect candidates to be experts, we’re looking for individuals who have shown interest in programming and technology, either through tutorials, personal projects or independent learning. This helps us make sure that you have the curiosity and foundation needed to thrive in our curriculum.

Are there any participation requirements?

Requirements to join the academy include an active interest in IT field, programming, demonstrated through prior efforts like completing tutorials, personal projects or studies. Plus, basic knowledge of SQL and Python and English proficiency at level B2 or above are preferred. Additional value comes from familiarity with cloud and data engineering concepts, as well as an interest in application development and AI tools.

I have applied but haven’t heard back, what do I do?

We personally review each application, so the process may take some time. If you haven’t heard from us yet, there’s no need to follow up, we’ll contact you if your application moves to the next stage. We understand this can be frustrating but rest assured that every CV is carefully considered.
