AI Architect (SCJ)
We’re growing fast, and we move fast. Let’s help clients change the game in their industries while we change the game in our own.
About Elixirr
Elixirr is a dynamic and innovative global consulting firm, recognized for delivering transformative solutions to our clients across a wide range of industries. As part of our growing AI practice, we are committed to developing enterprise-grade products, accelerators and agentic solutions that drive innovation for our clients and our people. We help leading organizations harness advanced AI technologies — from agentic workflows and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to multi-agent orchestration — grounded in their proprietary data and operating within the security and compliance standards their industries demand.
About the Role
We are looking for an Agentic Solution Architect to join our AI Services team and add to the senior architecture bench that sits at the heart of Elixirr’s AI practice. You will work alongside our existing AI leaders and architects, deepening our collective expertise in enterprise-grade agentic AI architecture and expanding our capacity to deliver it at scale across North America.
This is a client-facing, hands-on architecture role. You will design, review and defend the reference architectures that underpin the agent systems Elixirr delivers to large, regulated enterprises — and you’ll do it in partnership with our Head of Engineering, AI Innovation & Enablement Lead and delivery leads rather than in isolation.
In any given week you might be shaping a multi-agent reference architecture on Azure for a global bank, pressure-testing an agent-to-agent (A2A) integration design for a Fortune 500 insurer, walking a client CISO through identity and policy controls for an agent workforce, and pairing with our delivery teams to get production-grade agents live.
The ideal candidate is fluent across Azure, AWS and GCP, understands what it actually takes to orchestrate, govern and monitor an agent workforce at enterprise scale — both Elixirr-built agents and third-party agents the enterprise must interact with — and is able to engage as a peer with AI leaders, Chief Architects, CTOs and CISOs at the largest clients in the market.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Architecture Leadership
- Contribute to and evolve the reference architecture for Elixirr’s agentic AI solutions across Azure, AWS and GCP, including model hosting, retrieval, tool use, memory, orchestration, evaluation and observability.
- Translate client business objectives into end-to-end agentic solution designs that are secure, scalable, cost-aware and operable in production.
- Lead architecture reviews, design authority sessions and technical due diligence on behalf of client engagements.
- Make opinionated, defensible choices between build, buy and orchestrate — including when to use managed services (e.g., Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock AgentCore, Vertex AI Agent Builder) versus open frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, DSPy).
Agent Orchestration, Governance & Operations
- Design how enterprise clients will orchestrate, manage and monitor an agent workforce at scale — covering agent registries, routing, task decomposition, human-in-the-loop controls, guardrails and fallback behaviour.
- Architect agent-to-agent (A2A) interaction patterns, including MCP, A2A protocols and emerging interop standards, so Elixirr-built agents can safely collaborate with internal client agents and external third-party agents.
- Define the operating model for the agent workforce: identity and access for non-human actors, agent lifecycle management, versioning, approval workflows, audit trails and cost governance.
- Establish evaluation and monitoring patterns — offline evals, online evals, drift detection, tracing, red-teaming and regression harnesses — that clients can adopt as part of their production AI operations.
Security, Risk & Compliance
- Embed security-by-design across agent solutions: data protection, prompt injection and tool-use risks, secrets handling, network segmentation, private model endpoints and data residency.
- Advise clients on aligning agentic architectures with frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act, HIPAA and sector-specific regulations.
- Partner with client CISOs, risk and compliance leaders to translate policy into enforceable technical controls across cloud and agent layers.
Client Advisory & Pre-Sales
- Act as a senior technical voice in front of enterprise AI leaders, Chief Architects, CTOs, CDOs and CISOs — credible on architecture, honest about trade-offs, and commercially aware.
- Support pre-sales and shaping work: architecture workshops, solution blueprints, estimation, proposals and executive-level readouts.
- Help clients build their own internal agentic capability — from platform choices and standards to org design and adoption roadmaps.
Internal Leadership
- Work with our existing architecture, engineering and AI innovation leaders to evolve Elixirr’s point of view on agentic architecture, reference patterns and accelerators.
- Mentor engineers, architects and consultants, strengthening the firm’s collective fluency in agent systems.
- Partner closely with the Head of Engineering, AI Innovation & Enablement Lead and delivery leads to keep our reference stack sharp and production-ready.
Qualifications
Technical Expertise
- Deep, hands-on experience designing enterprise-grade AI/ML and agentic systems that have actually run in production at scale.
- Fluency across at least two of Azure, AWS and GCP, including their native AI and agent services, identity models, networking and data platforms.
- Strong command of modern agent frameworks and tooling — LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, DSPy, MCP, A2A — and a clear view on when each is appropriate.
- Solid foundations in RAG, evaluation, vector stores, model routing, and integrating LLMs with enterprise data and workflows.
- Comfortable with enterprise integration patterns, APIs, event-driven architectures, IAM, secrets management and observability.
Experience
- 10+ years in software / solution architecture roles, with at least 3 years focused on AI or agentic systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead architecture for large, regulated enterprises (financial services, insurance, healthcare, energy, public sector or similar).
- Track record of pre-sales and client advisory at senior stakeholder level — not just design documents, but deals shaped and solutions delivered.
Strategic & Communication Skills
- Exceptional ability to translate complex architecture into crisp business narratives for executive audiences.
- Opinionated but open — confident in defending a point of view, willing to change it in the face of better evidence.
- Strong written communication; your whitepapers, decks and reference architectures should stand on their own.
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- Advanced certifications in cloud (Azure / AWS / GCP) architecture, AI/ML or security are a plus.
