Winning the Away Games: Franco Smith

In the latest episode of “Winning the Away Games,” presented in collaboration with the URC, host Bob Skinstad sits down with Franco Smith, the head coach of the Glasgow Warriors. Franco, a native South African and former Springbok, transitioned into coaching soon after retiring from his playing career. His coaching journey began in Italy in 2007 when he took on the role of head coach for Benetton Rugby.

Over the years, Franco has held numerous coaching positions, including leading the Italy men’s national team before joining the Glasgow Warriors in August 2022. His ability to embrace and adapt to different cultures has been a cornerstone of his coaching success, a quality he aims to impart to his players, especially when facing challenges.
