Hugh Aller

Hugh Aller is a Partner at Elixirr with over 25 years of experience across global financial services, specialising in strategy, operating model transformation and the application of data and AI to core business models. He focuses on banking, wealth and asset management, and financial sponsors, and is building Elixirr’s North American Financial Institutions practice.

Hugh has held senior operating and leadership roles at Scotiabank and Citigroup, where he led the repositioning of capital markets, investment banking, equity research and credit card businesses. Across these roles, he delivered sustained improvements in financial performance, competitive positioning and client relevance. He began his career at Goldman Sachs and later moved into strategy consulting at Marakon Associates.

He advises senior executives on high-stakes strategic priorities, with a strong emphasis on execution – translating strategy into delivery in complex environments. His work aligns operating model change, systems and technology infrastructure, and commercial performance, drawing on deep experience in driving growth, turnaround and executing large-scale transformation.

Alongside his role at Elixirr, Hugh is a Limited Partner Advisor to NYCA Partners, where he engages with fintech founders and investors on innovation, partnerships, and emerging business models. He brings a distinctive blend of operator experience and strategic advisory expertise, helping clients navigate change and deliver measurable, long-term value.
