Elixirr launches inaugural South African Prospects Accelerator

We are proud to share that we recently hosted the inaugural Elixirr South African Prospects Accelerator, part of Elixirr’s wider ambition to back high-potential young people by expanding access to opportunity. 

Delivered in Cape Town in partnership with Oxbridge Prospects, the intensive eight-day programme brought together 29 highly motivated students from underserved communities. Combining academic excellence with real-world application, the Accelerator equips participants with the skills, confidence and exposure needed to shape their futures. 

Throughout the programme, students worked with expert tutors in mathematics, physics, data and technology, alongside entrepreneurs and grassroots start-ups. By combining world-class learning with real-world business challenges, students developed both technical capability and the confidence to apply their thinking in practical environments. 

Alongside academic learning, participants also developed: 

• Entrepreneurial thinking and innovation skills  

• Real-world problem-solving capabilities  

• Pitching and presentation skills  

• Interview readiness and university application support  

• Analytical thinking and confidence in tackling complex challenges  

A core aim of the programme is to broaden perspectives on what is possible. By connecting students with leading entrepreneurs and exposing them to new pathways, the Accelerator helps challenge assumptions, build ambition and open doors that may otherwise feel out of reach. 

The South African Prospects Accelerator forms part of Elixirr’s belief that background should not limit potential. The programme is designed to support ambitious young people at the moments that matter most, helping them build the capability, confidence and access needed to succeed on their own terms.
