COVID-19 has accelerated a universal shift to digital. Within the retail industry, this has led to a question mark over the future of brick and mortar shops.
Whilst the digital movement might seem inevitable, in actual fact, there are still great disparities between the desire to go digital and the reality. With big players like Amazon and Apple recognizing that the digital marketplace is becoming increasingly crowded and exploring physical retail, the case for shops to stay remains in sight. Other retailers recognize value in the trust and loyalty that physical touchpoints can establish with consumers. Clearly, it is not as clear-cut as it might seem.
