Elixirr is proud to present Challenger Network News, the show that takes your weekly news round-up to the next level. Hosted by Brandon Bichler, Partner at Elixirr, we debate the top news stories of the week alongside industry experts.
Inspired by the 2021 International Women’s Day theme of #ChoosetoChallenge, we’re bringing you a special series on Women in Consulting. Across three episodes, we speak to Elixirr consultants and special guests from top consulting firms, all at different stages of their careers. In these conversations we explore the barriers, perceptions and inequalities they have previously or are currently facing. We hope that this series is the start of a more active conversation which challenges an issue that is so prevalent in the industry. Equally, we hope this encourages other individuals and firms to start taking action so we can tackle and eliminate this issue altogether.
Part I: The view from the start
When does the problem of gender inequality in the consulting industry rear its head? We speak to Natalie Milner and Lara Kottsieper, consultants at Elixirr, to find out.
Part II: The view from senior consultants
Extensive travel, late-night client dinners, risk-taking. These are just a handful of the expectations of a good management consultant. But are the lifestyle demands and valued personality traits in consulting biased against women? We speak to Emma Burton, Senior Manager at PwC, and Fabiana Amiouni, Principal at Elixirr.
Part III: The view from partners
What changes and policies can consulting firms implement to encourage and enable women to stay in the industry? Is pay transparency or matched paternity leave the answer? Tune in to hear insights from Ramyani Basu, Partner at Kearney, and Karina van den Oever, Partner at Elixirr.
This is just the start of the conversation. So please keep an eye out for more content exploring and tackling the lack of women in consulting in the near future.
