They saw the immense benefits of using agile, an industry-leading approach, like speed and quality of client experience, however did not have the existing capabilities or in-house expertise to properly implement it. This made us the ideal partner. Our team was brought in to construct and deliver a formal agile playbook, conduct education sessions and provide the program management with the resources needed to support the bank as it evolved to use this new way of working. As a result, our team helped ensure the program was delivered to market quickly and effectively. As part of its transformation efforts, People’s United Bank, a regional retail bank based in Connecticut, wanted to use agile ways of working to build a new mobile banking platform. Agile is a method which enables speed of delivery, a client-centric focus and reduced project cost. However, neither People’s United Bank nor its third-party core banking platform vendor had ever used the approach. As experts in this way of working, our team was asked to help adopt and execute the agile approach that would meet both the vendor’s needs, and People United Bank’s transformation goals. The Approach Alongside delivering the entire digital program, which you can read more about here, we worked together with People’s United Bank and its vendor to train them in agile ways of working. The goal was to deliver a new digital platform that provided a great customer and user experience, but crucially, at pace. Working collaboratively we could develop an agile guide and training materials that were entirely bespoke for our client. This meant that throughout the delivery of the digital programme, People’s United Bank had resources to learn about agile as they went and apply the new method or working without breaking pace. The Impact In parallel to the success of using agile to create the mobile banking platform, People’s United Bank wanted to develop the agile playbook and ways of working, introducing it as a new product and service value proposition, company-wide. Not only did they achieve speed of delivery and reduced cost by using agile, but the new approach changed the way they built their solution, bringing the organization out of its silos and together designed, developed and deployed a customer-first solutions.
